Bachelors: Get Out of the "Dorm Room" Mentality

For all of you bachelors out there who are well into your twenties and thirties, have graduated college, hold a good job, and still live in your dorm-room looking crib, I'm here to help! I'm going to show you how to take your boys-room and convert it into a sophisticated and MANLY bachelor pad the ladies can appreciate.

Here are some key points to consider:
1. Get rid of that $20 futon you bought from that garage sale 3 years ago.
2. Get rid of that video-game chair you bought from Walmart, it might help you play better but it does not help your game.
3. Stop using those disposable plastic plate and red cups as dinner ware. Please, please, invest in some good old reusable, washable ceramic/glass dinner ware. Help the environment and help yourself!
4. Invest in a nice wicker laundry basket. Stop using your college one, which in no way does it say Mature and Manly.

What makes a successful bachelor pad mature and manly are a number of things. One of them would be using textures like leathers and hardwood. Another is using simple modern sleek furniture. In terms of colors, keep it neutral or monochromatic. Some popular bachelor pad colors are grays, beiges, black & white, red, dark greens and blues.
Investing in a properly designed bachelor pad will show your success and your maturity into the next stage of your life. Women will definitely appreciate this; it will show them that you have a good sense of style and that you take care of yourself. It shows independence and self-sufficiency. Not only that, but it will also make you feel better about your home and lifestyle. Celebrate your success and do invest in your home. Don't be afraid to be the sexy grown-up that your are!

Below are some examples of the sexiest, manliest Bachelor Pads:

Here's an example of using brown leather, neutral beige rug and a concrete floor. This bachelor pad has a feeling of an old warehouse softened up with some sleek, modern furniture. Manly.

Here's an example of using red furniture and hardwood flooring. The pool table and the unusual car in the middle of the living room give it that manly vibe. Spice things up with the artwork on the walls.

Many bachelor pads are very spacious with wide walkways and oversized windows. Choose the right size furniture that would make your space look larger and more open. In this picture they used hard wood floors and stuck to white furniture with smooth edges and rectangular shapes.

Here is an example of using mirror and strips to give the illusion of a larger room. Modern furniture, low to the floor (again for the illusion of a bigger room), and great artwork make this room complete.

This is an example again of using modern furniture that is low to the floor, wood colors and whites, rectangular shapes, and straight edges. The rug softens the hardness of all those edges.

Here is an example of a bathroom sink. Use sleek and modern fixtures and accessories.

This is an example of using textures such as hard wood, bark, and concrete. The little splashes of color in the furniture soften the harsh look of wood and concrete. Industrial lighting makes it complete.

This space has an industrial look which is always a plus if designed right.
